About 40ozMaltLiquor.com
40ozMaltLiquor.com was born in 1999 under the name "Bruz's 40oz Malt Liquor Paradise". It was created during the site owner's ("Bruz") junior year at Rutgers University, where he and his roommate "Beerface" were sharing an apartment that had too much space between the top of the kitchen cabinets and the ceiling. To fill that empty space, the duo decided to line the cabinets with as many different 40oz bottles as they could find. It soon became an obsession to see what else was out there, and they took that thrill of the hunt with them on many road trips up and down the eastcoast, going as far south as West Virginia, and as far north as Quebec Canada.
Bruz started researching 40s and malt liquor online to see what other brands existed, but he was soon frustrated to discover there was actually very little info available on what at the time was referred to as the worldwide web. Using his Comp Sci 110 "skills", he decided to create his own malt liquor website, hosted from a free Geocities account. Even back in 1999, long before the days of Facebook and Twitter, Bruz knew social networking was vital to his success in growing his collection so he created a message board where people with similar interests could converge and share drinking stories, talk sports or movies, and trade different 40oz bottles.
These members were immediately named The 40oz Crew and the forum continues to thrive to this day, claiming over 2,000 members worldwide. Many 40oz Crew "meetings" take place each year at different locations across the U.S., and occassionally other countries as well. The Crew gets together to hang out, drink beers, eat food, see sights, and have a good time. Every year is also host to an annual Meeting of the Minds (MOTM), having started in Chicago in 2004 and having taken place since then in NYC, the Jersey Shore, Memphis, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia!
This website has continued to evolve over time and is the #1 source for malt liquor information on the internet, being a complete reference of all known 40oz brands, as well as a resource for ANY and ALL other 40oz related information. In addition to being the ultimate 40oz and malt liquor resource, this website also serves as a 40oz bottle collector's hobby site where people can submit their photos/videos, share stories, trade bottles, meet new people, and make new lifelong friends.
So sit back, crack open an ice cold 40, and dig deep into the site so that you too may KNOW YOUR MALTS!
Keep Swillin',
Bruz
