Bruz: My most recent review: It gets worse & worse every time I try it. Originally I thought it was great (but to be fair a 10% 40oz was something special back then)... now I can't stand it. There's better super strong brews on the market. Cool label tho! 3/10 swills - and only that high cuz I used to like it & am currently confused about our (me + Black Bull's) relationship... it's like dealing with a hot but nagging chick... at first you're into her, but over time she just turns ugly & pisses you off.

My 1st review: Canada really comes through with this 10% 40oz. The only other 10%er that I tried before this was Lucky Lager Force 10 & that was miserable. But all the 40oz Crew canadian members swore this was much better, and they were right. In spite of it's alcohol content, it tasted like one of the US's high gravity lagers (like Steel Reserve or St Ides). Camo High Gravity is 8.5% and burns a bit on the way down, however, this 10% 40 did NOT! So considering it's alcohol content, it went down very smooth! Plus, this 40 is a clear small mouth bottle! It doesn't get any better! Why is this so special you ask? Because 95% of Canadian 40s are released in WIDE mouth BROWN bottles! And everyone who knows their malts knows that small mouths are just better. Obviously, there's also a very good buzz factor! Anyway, enough jibba-jabba, this bull gets 10/10 swills cuz it's 10% & tastes good, with a tough label. If you think otherwise, you can just pass away. 7/19/09 BigJandthe40: First off I must say thank you to do7c0m for giving me the chance to drink this mother fucker! Saturdays my day off and I wanted to get fucked up today so when I saw this box on my deck I was pumped. I went to the store and bought 2 40oz to pre game for the black bull. after I finished the 2 steel I knew it was time to open the Black Bull 10% I was already pretty fucked up but told myself "if your going to do it might as well do it right"
So I busted this fucker open. I was thinking it was going to have a super wine taste like Four 0 but it seemed smoother too me. Dont get me wrong this is some strong shit and will knock out a rookie for sure. But IMOP this is easier too get down then Four 0, it might have to do with the wide mouth? Any ways after I finished this I was on a whole nother level, Big Frank drove us out to Berkley in the hills and drank some talls and on the way back drove thru the ghettos of Oakland and let me tell you Martin Luther King Blvd at 2 am is filled with he shes, we say about 5 dudes dress ass chicks cock and balls all over the place. So what I am trying to say is that if you drink this 40oz strange things will happen and you will wake up with an awsom hangover

first sip tastes like...skunky malt with some sweat. At least it stays the same throughout. Drinking this after drinking a Busch Light 40 and a MBI 40 while watching some episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Even though I had a mild buzz going on beforehand I can definitely feel the alcohol after just half of this monster.

The wide-mouth opening allows for easy drankin'

By the end of it I'm pretty blotto. It didn't taste THAT bad. I'd get it again (especially because I scuffed the label)

40 Ounce Killa: Thanks out to my man Sippin Apache for setting me up with this! I had wanted to try this for a long time, I remember how it was YPMO's favorite 40, and it kinda defined the Canadian 40 to me. Good crack, no hiss. The first sip caught me off guard. This tasted like a St. Ides with a shot of rubbing alcohol thrown in. It has a VERY strong alcohol odor and taste. For about the first 1/3 of it, I'd get the shivers when I swallowed, because of the strong alcohol flavor. By the 1/2 mark, I was ready to dump this, it tasted so bad. But, I soldiered on. The things I do for you guys. When it got to the swill stage, I held my nose and just power chugged it. It was truly revolting. The only good thing I can say is that the buzz factor was excellent (it better be after the overpowering alcohol taste), and it's a very cool looking bottle for the collection. I definitely wouldn't buy this if it was available in my area. 4/10 swills.

AK40seven: Generous thanks out to the dynamic duo of Sargent J-Mo and Dirty D for this. I had serious doubts I'd ever get this one, so much to the point I.....well I don't want to get into that. It is everything it is reported to be and more. It tastes like a 7.5-8% and has all the punch of the 10%. So smooth that as I type and drink the last 1" or so I honestly can't attach the word "swill" to it. It tastes as good near the bottom as the first sip from many other 40ozs. In a wide mouth bottle (my preference) and tasting this good with a buzz factor so high... I give it a solid 10. It may be just as well I don't get this locally, I would drink myself to death with these. I consider my nationality at stake because of this.

Alvin Karpis: First off thanks out to Nitz for the hook up, swilled this with SanJose40drinker during the NorCal meeting. I swilled this 40 last after a whole night of drinking malts. That was a bad idea as this 40 kicked my ass big time! Black Bull tastes like complete shit, and I was already drunk when I got into this 40 so the taste really shouldnt have bothered me, but it did it was real bad. I want to compare it to Axe Head as they have a similar %, but Axe Head did not taste like this. The buzz factor is hard core, I passed out after drinking it and left SanJose to ponder his thoughts alone in my computer room. Taste 1/10 Buzz 10/10 Overall 5/10 Thanks Nitz for hooking me up with a fine Canadian 40 for my collection as the label and Wide Mouth make this a good looking 40.

Buzzcore: I was eager to try one of the most popular and powerful Canadian 40s out there. Unfortunately, the taste was not as good as I was expecting. However, at 10%, the buzz factor was decent enough for me to hurl the empty bottle out of my friend's apartment window and onto the roof of a parking garage six stories below. It just bounced! 7/10

CHINO: You cats say this is the best of the the bulls, You are nothin but wrong. Stay away.

cyberninjamew: This 40 has alot of potential to be one of the best in Canada. The fact that it weighs in at 10% makes it a true heavyweight. All in all when you first smell this badboy you want to cringe, but as soon as you start to swill you find your self quite satisfied. Taking into consideration that I am from Toronto where we only have like 10 40z or so, this is the one you want to buy if you are looking to get smashed. The Lucky Force 10 just cant stand up to this 40. Out of 10 I give this one 7. Just because it is a beer, I still speak highly of the O.E. the only malt we have in Toronto.

DolbyZero: I have now drank my first 40 of Black Bull. Super big ups to DC40s for this, he had to trek long and hard for this one. The crack was super hard and it hissed for like what seemed to be 2 or 3 seconds str8. First sip was nasty, but then it got alot smoother and about 1/2 label it started to get nasty again. I started catching a buzz about were the upc label starts and this 40 is very strong compared to what I used too. I had to power down that last 3rd. Buzz factor is high, taste factor is low, I give it 6/10 swills. I expected something better for it being a "bull". I would rather have a blue any day.

JoeWebberlione: Swilled this one the other nite thanks to my man SippinApache, the #1 Canadian malt dealer!! First sip in and it tastes a little bit different from other 10%ers a whole lot better, it reminded me of Crazy Stallion only with more of a kick you in the ass flavor. Half way finished this shit is starting to kick in and I know I'm gunna be straight out by the end of it. Through out the whole thing I never got a bad taste, swill, anything. Over all rating 9 & a half out of 10 swills!!!!

LMSCRacer: OK - Where to start - A BIG thanks to Sippin Apache for this 10% ABV Canadian Hook-Up. Driver picked up the mail today from our recent FL trip and found this box - per my "orders", the 40 instantly found its way into the frig from consumption tonight.

Drivers review - "tastes like rubbing alcohol" although I can't remember her ever drinking rubbing alcohol since I've known her.

My review - Wow - First sip had Evil Eye written all over it. Stayed with it and got past that. First off, good hiss off the crack. Sure, the EtOH hits you initially, but being a 10% ABV, I was ready for it. Good carbonation and ok taste, right down to the swill. I give this bad boy a solid 8/10 swills.

Bruz will probably want to kick my ass after seeing his updated review, but I guess I'll have to take my chances!

Nice fizz on the crack, smells very strong.

The label is kinda cool too in my opinion, but let's talk about the beer.

First sip taste pretty strong but the more you drink it the smoothest it is

10% gonna fuck you up for sure, be sure to drink this bitch ice cold cause warm it taste like pure shit.

But if you drink more then one you gonna get a huge hungover !!

If you want to get drunk for cheap, Black Bull is a solid choice, can't go wrong with that

PONGI: I swilled my first Black Bull on my buddy's patio and couldn't believe how smooth it went down for a 10% forty! Everytime I drink one I am repeatedly amazed: smooth, strong and fucking great! 10 outta 10 for being simply amazing.

RickCarling: This stuff tastes terrible...probably because its 10%. the other 10% shit i used to drink (crest super tall boys) are the nastiest drink in the world. So compared to those, this shit tastes decent. I like the buzz tho, one of these will get you buzzin good. In summary, taste bad, buzz good. 7/10

This tasted like ass due to its extremely high alcohol content as well as the useless wide mouth which seems to adorn all canadian 40s (except the fucking awesome Perfect 10). I poured some of it into a glass, I could not enjoy this shit. It made me realize that I probably didn't give Crazy Horse a fair shake either, due to the stupid fucking wide mouth. I guess that it wasn't that far off (taste-wise) from a canadian big bear, both have that strong alcohol flavor...im not saying i like my brew watered down, but this one might stand to be watered down a bit. i think sgt. j-mo put it best when he said 'i drink this when i want to get really fucked up'. i can see that. on the other hand, ypmo has told me 'i drink 3 a night'. not sure what to make of that. i give it 4 of 10 swills for a bad taste which was made worse by the wide mouth. Buzz: A+, Taste: C

sippin apache: Black Bull 10% is a classic. It's a clear widemouth bottle. The brew had been chilling in the freezer for and hour, ice cold. To begin, it cracks real loud. It tastes good for a 10%, especially when ice cold, no after taste. Although the taste is stronger then most 40's I know(except Wildcat 10 and Big10) it is great. If it gets warm it's awefull though. So, great taste for a body warming buzz. 10/10.

uk82chaospunk: big thanks to Mike (YPMO) for buying me this 40 when we met up in toronto...we swilled them in an alley that was full of snow and ice....i swilled it faster than him, got a good buzz off that shit....the 40 tasted really good for a 10% brew...i wish we had 10% 40s over here....all i gotta say is: canada is fun, vacation is fun, drinking 40s in alleys is fun, going to bars after drinking a black bull is fun, talking shit to strippers is fun, meeting up with other 40oz members is fun....black bull gets a 10 out for 10 making my night in toronto and my new years fun as hell

Like everyone says, goes down smooth, doesnt burn going down, It's got all the advantages you want in a 40 and none of the disadvantages, it is the strongest 40 out there, and I drink it over here 90% of the time, every night with the Black Bull is a guaranteed a good night.... man i love to hear that shit I thought you americans would have a different opinion on it
