Bruz: Thanks out to Tesguino for the bottle! Technically, you're not allowed to ship glass out of Mexico, so I'm lucky to even have received it empty... so instead of being able to drink the full 40, I'll review 3 imported 12oz'ers, all taken out of the fridge at the same time. Initial reaction is "oh, it's a dark beer!". I'm still not used to dark brews coming in 40s, but it's not uncommon in Mexico. In the 16th century, the Emperor of Vienna sent a Czech brewmaster to Mexico to teach the residents how to make good beer. And this brew is named after that historical contribution. I'm eating some chicken cooked with balsamic vinegar, rosemary, garlic & oil (sidees of white rice & asparagus) with my drink. Entemann's chocolate chip cookies for dessert, which also is not bad with the beer. Dark beers & chocolate flavor often go well together. Now, as I wrap up this brew, I'm playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II for the PS2 (I'm on Act III). The swill's fine, just a warmer dark beer... pretend you're in Germany. Overall 6/10 swills, a good solid dark brew for sure. |
