Bruz: Just got home from my last day as a host at TGI Fridays. Got a raging headache, popped a couple Tylenol, and cracked open my new 40 of Schlitz Bull Ice (High Gravity - 8.2%), courtesy of Tiger Tai, to ease the pain. The taste thus far is very good, no complaints what-so-ever. Smooth going down, no bitter aftertaste, surprisingly delightful for a "high gravity ice brewed malt liquor". I'll report back when it's done with a final review... but so far it's helping to ease my headache! Great label, great taste, great swill (for swill, that is), great buzz... but it nearly made me pee blood! I had to urinate 4 times within 3 minutes, no lie. 9/10 swills for being one of the best damn HGs out there! Also thanks out to JoeWebberlione for one of the variants! |

12/3/10 timmah1231: Cracked this while watching some old-school Simpsons and ripping some Black Sabbath on vinyl, and having just come back from the bar with a few friends. Gotta admit, my previous experiences with Bull Ice were less than savory; it had a distinct skunky scent and flavor, and it really made drinking 40s of Bull Ice an arduous task. Not now, however... ...for this is a new batch, and it's quite tasty. Upon ice-cold crack, it tastes like a Steel Reserve with less of a fusel-alcohol bite and more robust maltiness, akin to some Colt 45 or King Cobra. +15 minutes, nearly at the halfway point of the label, and it's taken on a bit of a 'dirty-carpet' malt taste...my way of describing a shitty ice beer, like Keystone Ice...next time you sip something like that while warm, think about it....it's like faceplanting an old carpet. Anyway...+35 minutes, and I'm just below the bottom of the label...it's warmed a bit, and it shows. Definitely a distinct malt sourness, a lot like, say, old raisins with a bit of the powder they put on Sour Patch candy. But I've had much worse swill experience. (I'm talking about you, shit-dick St. Ides.) +40 minutes, and the buzz is quite distinct. As is the empty bottle before me. SO WHAT'S THE TALLY?
7/10 for buzz (there was a small bar run before this, so it's probably a bit inaccurate) It's mathematically incorrect, but I give this 40 a 7.5/10. It's probably the 2nd most bearable HG 40 I've had, 1st being Hurricane HG. |

11/8/09 d07c0m: Thanks to Boston40hunter for the chance to retry this malt. My first encounter with it was via SRSER and it was the new IML label. I never had the old one unfortunately. Very sweet, but quite smooth. Nice carbonation. I remember the last one I had was also very sweet but had gone down a bad road in terms of skunking and the sweet did not help it out whatsoever. This new review is undoubtedly more positive. I enjoyed it far more, found it to be very smooth and refreshing. The sweetness is key here, if it were somehow possibly to cut it a bit it would be like an 8.2% MBI or similar. Reading my last review I would have originally given this a 5.5-6.0/10 review and would now give it something between a 7.5-8.0/10 |

10/3/09 40zForSatan: First off, a thanks is due to sleazye for hooking this up. I drank this on a tuesday night with a broad that actually knows where to find it locally, so she had brought 2 40s and a 24 over anyway. I had 2 40s and I was feeling pretty alright, the taste is pretty strange, it has a quick malt taste with a strange sweet flavor chasing it down. I drank them kind of slow but the swill was still pretty easy to get over, not much had changed which was surprising.

I bought a few bottle from Neu and one was a full Bull Ice from 03. I was worried about the dark color of the fluid but am giving it a shot, First sip you can tell its old and that I shouldnt be drinking it. It has a wine type taste with a real sharpe after bite...after every sip I take the color changes and turns a foamy dark brown. I am not liking this at all but I paid good money for it so I have to work through it. There are tons of thing floating now and the color is still chaning, I dont like change I had to pour the last part out for me bros. I would say that the old one was 4 out of 10  |

4/28/09 sleazye: Great taste from the first crack. You can taste the alcohol but it's not overpowering like Steel Reserve 211 can be. All in all, if you want a 40 that tastes great and will kick your ass, give it a go! Always a go-to 40 when I am getting it on the MA/NH border. 3/28/09 D4N0: In my top 3 high gravity 40s, this comes in at #3. The first couple of gulps was horrific, for some reason. As i continued on it acclumated to my taste buds, as I said in the vid I made. Too much alcohol taste, I consider St. Ides easier to gulp down than this. Overall it was a great 40, thanks to BWill on the hookup. St. Ides is still my #1 high gravity, I still have a Steel reserve 211 black label to drink yet, but before i drink that, st. ides wins. Overall I give this 40 a 6/10 taste factor, 9.5/10 on buzz, so roughly estimating around 8/10 overall |

3/02/09 LMSCRacer: Just in case my video didn't get it across...very solid overall. One of the best, strongest cracks and hisses I have ever experienced. Very mild flavor for an 8.2 - you know the alcohol is there, but it is reasonably well covered by actual malt flavor. Drank it in under 10 so even the swill stayed cool and was decent. Far better IMHO than 211 Silver. I'm going to have to do a side by side with Ides to see who makes the top 3 (maybe there will just be a tie!). Overall 7/10 swills. |

3/02/09 CountryCluber408: wow, drinking this now..My good friend came down from Portland Oregan, and surprised me with yet a gain another backpack of wonderful malt beverages that I cant ever get in my stupid ass city...a 211 Triple Export, Camo Silver Ice, some other camo shit tall can, and this beauty- the Schlitz Bull Ice 40. just cracked it. First impression was this seems real creamy and smooth for 8.2%. When I think of 8% Liquor, I think of the all mighty Steel Reserve. But when I drink this , it almost seems like it has a lesser ABV than 211 going by taste.....yet it has more...a tenth of a percent to be exact. Im almost half way and I am seriously enjoying this 40 and feelin the buzz a bit. Also just ate a bunch of little caesars pizza and it is fuckin my experience up a little but its all good. Really into the brown glass..seriously tastes like Lagunitas "ruben &the Jets" 22oz I had the other day...so weird. fuck it.. I love this 40, and would drink it all the time if I could get it easily. For sure will ad a nice look to my other Schlitz bottle. Fucking pizza, damn making it hard to get it down right now. Really though, I honestly dont taste any harshness at all, 7.5 OE has more of a harsh taste than this. Probably one of the best 40s I have ever ripped....and with an awesome percentage. Tastes soooo much better than Schlitz's reg. Malt Liquor...goddamn, its seriously the best fucking 40 yet... Sick ass label, brown bottle, smooth, buzz is great, fuckin 10/10. |

7/26/08 ismokeweed: by far the best high grav out there. ill be honest the first time i took a drink of it i almost gagged, but i lit up a cig and by the time it was done i had drank 3/4 of the 40, and it was from then on my favorite drink. ive actually been on a binge for it the past week, drinking 2 or 3 every night. but after having 2 or 3 ice's, nothing else could compare to it. i used to only drink malt liquor when i was broke and needed to get drunk, but now i prefer the taste of it over most of my old favorite beers, bud, bud select, and even my prized drink; stag. only drink ill pick over it is if ive got some money and im drinking tecate. but except for those nights, by the time the sun sets, you can usually find me with a 40 of shlitz bull ice in my hand. i mean you cant beat getting a little drunk for $1.75, pretty drunk for $3.50, and fucking smased for $5.25. Goes down smooth after your first couple, ends up tasting great, and its cheap. 10/10 swills. |

91firebird: First off many thanks to SRSER for the hookup on the Bull Ice (this is my 1st Bull Ice HG). Crack was kind of weak and it started to foam a little so this is going to have alot of carbonation which I like. 1st swig was smooth. It does not have a strong alcohol taste like I expected. I thought this was going to be like Steel Reserve. But this isn't rough at all. In fact it's pretty smooth although this is a 8.2% ABV malt so I know it's gonna produce a wicked buzz. I'm at the mid way point and this 8.2 has me feelin great. Been a few more minutes and the swill is done and I'm schnockered drunk. Shit was rough towards the end but all in all a good 40. 7/10 swills. |

211 Swilla: Nice HG, definitly better than OE HG. The taste is managable and the buzz is tough (8.2%). This could rival 211 is my opinion, but I'm pretty swilled right now. 8/10 swills |

40ozcasualty: This just recently became available to me at this one spanish mart. Cracked my first one a few nights ago, tasted pretty good to me. Definitely better than St Ides HG, but not as good as silver 211, but it is close though. It has the alcohol content of St Ides, but has the fullness off 211. The only thing I didn't like was that it barely hissed when I cracked it. I've had it a few times since and the same thing happened each time, but it still tastes alright to me. I think it'd be fun to work my way up the Schlitz ladder one night, start with some blue bull, then some red bull, and then finish the night with a Schlitz Bull Ice HG. |

40ozDestroyer: the other day i was in a ghetto ass part of vegas and pulled ina 711 and to my surprise i saw the bull ice, i had never swilled the shit..so i grabbed two tall cans of it and went at it fuckin shit is putrid, the worst godawfull nigg piss i have ever had the displeasure of drink'in..shit is like gasoline goin down and fucks your stomach up big time..never again gave me a good buzz though, but wasnt worth the torture |

AK40seven: I've seen this stuff(schlitz bull) around in various forms over the years, this is the first for bull ice malt liqour. This stuff is at 8.2%, I have thought the 211 was the highest % in this town, just never paid close attention. It isn't too bad tasting either, but does NOT have the full-bodied malt flavor of the 211. Kind of a watery tasting malt, hard to believe it tops 211 in the % because of that. It has a black/silver label and trademark bull with the words Bull Ice in white with a blue outline. |

beam21: Oh my god. I just "finished" my Bull Ice HG and I wish I hadn't. My 40 was super frosty after 4 hours in the freezer. Drank in about 45 minutes. It cracked nicely, and though it tasted shitty it was surprisingly easy going down. It was consistent, got a nice buzz going, the upper swill was relatively harmless... Then as I was killing the 40 the VERY last swill was the most godawful thing I have ever tasted and no lie I ran to my bathroom and harfed up my whole 40 as well as the fajitas I ate immediately beforehand. Now I am hungry and upset. I was one swill from giving this 40 a highly favorable review. To be fair, this 40 did have many redeeming qualities, so I will give it a 6 out of 10, but I will most likely never drink it again. |

BoozeClues: I always judge hi gravity malt liquors on a curve, as they are not expected to taste as good as lower alcohol brethren. Schlitz Bull Ice tastes like Schlitz Malt Liquor, which is not a compliment. However, it is very good as far as hi gravities go. It packs the advertised buzz every bit and tastes comparitively smooth. I would have it more regularly if it were not so hard to find in my area. I think I still prefer St Ides but this is not a bad alternative. It has roughly the same alcohol content as the major hi gravs but beats Steel Reserve in taste. I recommend you give it a try if you can find it, the inebriation factor definitely will not dissapoint, 9 of 10 swills for power combined with a reasonably good taste. |

BrainDamage702: This is a pain in the ass to find. when i first tasted it, it seemed to have a hint of soy sauce flavor to it.. it was weird.. but i must say this is probably the best 40 i have ever tossed back... the buzz was excellant, the lablel iz dope! the swill didnt bother me at all... it waz really smooth...it would definatly be my choice of 40'z if it waz closer to my house.. 10 outta 10 swillz!!!!!!! |

Buzzcore: Tough to find and it doesn't have much flavor (tasted like a stronger Red Bull actually), but it might be my new "HG" of choice........... it goes down easy! Great looking label too! Unfortunately, I don't think it really gets you as messed up as Camo or some of the Canadian "extra-forte" brews do, so I can only give it an 8/10. |

Silver 211 was my favorite 40 until tonight. Aient go to my usual store, I usually go to one down the street cuz my buddy owns it. Instead went to one that like only 2 minutes away or so. Looked and seen no steel's. No OE HG's, No St. Ides, No nothing. Spotted this so grabbed up a couple of em. Let it sit in the freezer for a hour. And took my first sip and was damn suprised how good it taste. Downed it in about half a hour, Good buzz going. Great 40. 9 outta 10. |

detroitfourtyouncer: I hold this in my top 3 HG 40's Its got more similarities to St. Ides than any other high gravity malt, which is definately a good thing in my opinion. I've had this probably 15 or so times in my day, and it's always a good HG to rely on when you want the extra kick that an HG should deliver. the first time I had it, I didnt even know it was an HG 40oz... this was right around when I turned 21 and started collecting (07/2006), and I copped this from my local spot not even looking at the label enough to notice the ABV or that it said "High Gravity" I worked my way through this before getting into a Schlitz Red Bull 40oz, and noticed by the end of it, I was a bit more buzzed than I should have been off of a malt, and I took it out of the brown bag and examined the label to notice that it was indeed an HG. I was definately a malt wanksta when I started off my collection, and this was the only HG I've had at the time, aside from Steel Reserve on a few occasions. and if it was good enough for me to not even notice the HG side of it, then it's definately some good shit. I've since had over 10 high grav malts, and this is still one of my top HG's.

dj oe 800: first and foremost, props to joewebberlione for the hookup. tight fuckin' label. the schlitz bull is a true icon. by all rights it should be as recognizable as the pillsbury doughboy, ronald mcdonald, joe camel, et al. cracked this one open a half hour after throwing this four in the freezer to pre-heat. initial crack -- tastes nice, smooth, noticeable "HG" aftertaste, not as offensive or strong as ides or silver 211. no heavy mouthfeel like silver ice. it's smoothness is not as smooth as HHG, which is no big deal. just past the label -- buzz beginning to make an appearance. ears getting warm. this one is going to get me pretty lifted, for sure. halfway point -- i was going to review this and the gennesse ice that joewebberlione sent me back-to-back, but i think my genny ice review would be influenced too much by my buzz. i also feel like this is going to be a filling forty. we'll see. swill -- i didn't allow this forty to get too warm, because i had already read a few reviews of it that warned against letting it get warm, so i made sure to power through the bastard once it dipped below the lower edge of the label. i avoided disgusting swill, but it wasn't pleasant, either. it's pretty much what you'd expect in any swill, hg or not.
finish -- hell yeah. i got a buzz and a half from bull ice hg. i'd recommend HHG over this due to that brew's ridiculous smoothness, but this is a very close second.  |

elantrax: After wanting one for awhile I finally got one from a trade with Orentha so special thanx to him. At 8.2% I had to put this stuff head to head with St.Ides since there the same %. So lets start off saying the crack of the bottle sent a decent hiss but this hiss wouldnt be nowhere as good as I thought taste wise. From the first swill, to the middle swill, to the last swill of the bottle this stuff everytime sent a pretty typical HG aftertaste that sent me wishing for a Private Stock at any time through this 40 to offset the taste but being a true 40 drinker I didnt give up and finished it off. Taste wise compaired to most HG 40's I say would be under Steel Reserve 211 and inbetween St.Ides. Buzz factor this stuff did its job at 8.2% cause it had me focusing to get this review up and basically it was pretty close to an St.Ides buzz. In the end this stuff does the job at 8.2% no doubt, taste wise it is pretty typical HG but if you wanna get pretty buzzed or drunk and you feel like having a 40 that taste somewhat better then ides but not as good as Steel 211 then you choose Schlitz Bull Ice HG. I give this 40, 7 out of 10 cause it does the job at 8.2%, taste aint the worst and overaul its got the Bull on the front like the other schlitz bull malt liquor lineup and after you drink the other bulls you cant resist but taste the Bull Ice HG. |

JAP: found this shit in new bern NC. yesterday in a food lion. I was real surprised at the taste, liked it better than st. ides hg or Hurricain hg(had not had the 40 of HHG yet though, only cans). shit had a real smooth flavor and i could not really taste the alcohol that much.Thought it was much better than regular blue bull thanks to the 8.2% kick. definetly would drink this regulary.Think it might be avalible to me around here some where based on info from a previous review, gonna have to look out for it |

JoeWebberlione: Growing up I always hated this stuff, used to always call it Bull Piss. I thought it was horrid, last nite my brother & I were at mobil in the middle of our shift, we dont get out of work til 4:30 and they dont start selling alcohol in the 207 til 6am so we decieded to grab our brew then while we were at the store & we still could. I checked the cooler to see what they had, nothing really special, they had Schlitz Bull Ice though, which by now I cant remember what it tastes like, what the hell I should get a fresh taste on it. Grabbed it and then after work I ended up cracking open to it. Decent crack nice flavor for an HG I have to say. Could have been due to the fact that it was the end of a long work week and the 40 was ass cold from being out in negative degree weather for 4 or so hours but fuck it, it was good & fucked me up pretty good for putting it down in about a half hour. 7 outta 10 swills. Will be getting more regularly now. |

lookin 4 a 40: This malt tastes the best in the high gravity league. It's cheap, has the best label, it's smooth and quickly gets the job done. It has a higher % than 211 but flows down easier. (I have fine memories of this brew. Back when I was 15 my mom wouldnt let me go on a trip with my buddies down to the keys for the weekend, so I got tanked off this stuff and right in front of her..threw her purse across the room...change,lipstick and money went flying everywhere.) |

MarkBlackout: I copped this 40 on the east side of town yesterday. I had drank one or two of these before, but needed one for a review and for the collection. I remembered it being more tolerable than other HGs, and this proved to be more or less true this time as well. Good LOUD crack, initial gulps reveal that while Bull Ice lacks any funky, wacky "HG" taste, it has a bitter chemical aftertaste. I like it. This shit is poundable as hell, and it tastes just fine until it starts to get warm. Then it turns into gag-inducing acidbrew. Buzz is good, if a little STRANGE. It went well with the Frank Zappa I was listening to while I pounded this beast. 7 out of 10 swills. |

McGannahan Skyjellyfetti: Just had this for the first time last night, and I was impressed beyond belief! For one of the highest alky contents, it is really smooth and tastes not horribly bad at all. This may have been due to the 6+ shots of vodka beforehand, but it didn't matter then. Not only did it taste good, but got me blitzed and led to much hijinks, including cops, threesomes, and gashed open shins. 9 out of 10 swills, and my new 40 of choice. |

After the Camo HG though my taste buds mighta been taking a snooze. After this one we were pretty bombed. All our neighBros wanted 40s after they saw what this shit did to us. But also a nice refreshing beverage when playing italian bowling. Label kicked ass too. Wishing I had a 40 of it right now. |

Motobrew: Have had this many times, the local store sells it for cheap. All around good HG, kinda strong unique flavor, doesn't taste as good as a cold private stock, but its not bad. Good buzz and worth buying, I would drink it daily. |

OldeGoldSwilla: Bull ice is perhaps the best tasting high gravity. I do have a soft spot for steel cause i've been drinking it so long but i have to give bull ice credit where it's due. The best way to describe the taste is "like steel plus a little water" so for non-hg swillas this will be a plus. The label is decent but not as cool as steel. Of the 4 hgs i've tried (oehg, st ides, steel, and bull ice) it is the easiest drinking although i still would chose steel over this 65% of the time. One thing that does make bull ice cool is that around me it is much harder to find than steel. Steel can be found in almost every store whereas bull ice is only available in one store nearby. |

It definately got me lifted, but considering its the same % as St. Ides, its just more evidence to prove that St. Ides puts embalming fluid in their brews; I'm nowhere really near feeling an Ides buzz. Tastes a bit heavy (as evidenced by its dark color) like Steel Reserve. This is an all-around good 40. I respect it even more than I like it, which is quite alot. this is 8 of 10, wish i could get it by me, this is a really full bodied brew, the taste is truly preimum. Buzz: B, Taste: B+  |

I thought it tasted 10 times better than the old shit it was also pretty smooth. The label it 10 times better than the old one too... I'd give Bull Ice High Gravity 7 of 10 Swills... |

troobie: Lets start with some interesting observations: Probably some of the coolest graphics out there. The entire Schlitz malt liquor line has awesome designs, but this is the best. The 24oz. can looks way better than the 40, with the black bull taking up most of the can against a black wall background. The bull has fucking blue eyes!!! I thought it was interesting how little they emphasized the 8.2% ABV on the labeling considering that has to be a major selling point of any high gravity malt liquor. Also of interest to me was the fact that this is called "high gravity ice brewed" malt liquor. I can't think of any other high gravity I've had that mentioned anything about being ice brewed. Now for the taste: The only Schlitz available in my city is Schlitz beer and Schlitz Blue Bull. I've had the Blue Bull and thought that it tasted like ass, pretty much like cheap old man beer. I expected that from the Bull Ice, so it has been sitting in my fridge for months after I picked it up about 60 miles away in Yuba City, CA. I was more than pleasantly surprised! This tastes like 211 but is easier to get down. It has the same caramel taste but not the thickness. The buzz is good, but not as strong as St. Ides HG. I'm going to go 9/10 on this. Really an excellent HG and I'm sorry my pussy city doesn't carry it. Great taste. Also, I agree with Bruz that this will cause you to piss constantly. |

Vile Fiend: I despise this drink. Had it 3 times out of a 40, all 3 times were misery. A sharp, overbearing taste. A long lasting, shitty aftertaste. Harsh buzz, leaves me with cotton mouth in the night, and a terrible hangover. I will never drink one of these again. 2 outta 10 swills just because the label is cool as hell. |

White Mike: I can honestly say that this is one of the best tasting high gravity 40's I've ever tasted. My new 40 drinking habit is to let it sit the the freezer for about an hour. This made the bull ice nice and cold and very drinkable. The first sip was good. A real combination of "Ice" and "High Gravity". I could taste elements of both. Good all the way down, very smooth. The swill got harsh, but was still drinkable with no problem. Very good for a malt, and outstanding for a high gravity malt. |
