| Genesee Cream Ale |

Bruz: This was awarded a gold in the World Beer Cup for its style. And it tastes like gold. I cracked this with some chicken made with olives & pasta. The cream ale does have a very nice flavor. I'm an instant fan. If I could get this by me, I'd drink it regularly. This is very smooth & does have a kind-of "creamy" taste like the name suggests. I peed twice during it, the swill was no problem, but then again neither is the buzz. So due to not feeling any buzz what-so-ever, I gotta give this a 9/10 swills. If it was a bit stronger, we coulda had a perfect score. Delicious! Thanks out to neufutur for the hookup on the new label (and hence, a new review). |

10/24/09 beam21: Got the connect on this old man from havinafett, wow what a wild beer this is. Tastes really good, the only other cream ale I'm familiar with is little kings, and this is definitely better than that. I don't do beer 40s really aside from icehouse, but genesee cream is fire. It's a pretty heavy brew for what it is and has a very pronounced thick mouthfeel. I don't care about the buzz cause this is simply a very pleasurable brew to drink, but to measure it I'd say it's weak but not nonexistent. I don't like the tab caps as I like to recap my 40s sometimes when I'm not drinking them, and it just somehow feels weird going on and off. This is a quirky, tasty old school brew that I would definitely hit up periodically if I had it available locally. Taste B+ Buzz C+ Overall 8/10 |

8/23/09 d07c0m: thanks to fett for the hookup on this awesome 40. I've had it in cans a lot, never in bottles. Drinking it piss warm but it flows and is smooth. I like it a lot, basic beer but very nice. Solid 70% |

11/30/08 dj oe 800: well, first off, someone needs to call or write genesee (or whatever bottling plant in rochester that's crankin' em out) and tell 'em that their forties never crack correctly. there was no ring detach, which is a major bummer. except this tastes really, really goddamn good and thankfully isn't flat. this is no doubt part of the illustrious canon of bad beers -- but tastes entirely unique, unlike the majority of bad beers, who tend to have only almost insignificant differences. i once bought a thirty rack of this in 12 oz cans, and i was struck by the taste. here it is again, only without the sharp "can" flavor, which i didn't necessarily dislike back then, but it's definitely worlds better in the forty. the good taste comes at a price, however. this seems quite filling. my god this tastes so good. this may well have just replaced pabst as my favorite beer forty in terms of taste. in terms of poundability, it's definitely a forty you can feel good about just chilling on, because other beers will flow much faster.
highly recommended, i picked this up on a hunt in north philly, and every time i hunt north philly from now on, i'm getting this. ![]() |

JoeWebberlione: This stuff is great, if I remember correctly I found it somewhere in Rhode Island when I was visiting a friend. Great crack, (unlike the Genesse Ice when the ring comes off with the cap half the time) smooth as fuck goes down so easy & tastes so delicious. I would def drink on the reg if it were an easy find 9 outta 10 swills. |

MyLiverHurts: Maybe it’s cause it was a little warm (being kept in a cooler not an actual fridge) but this shit was hideous. Normally I love cream ales, Little Kings, one of my faves. This one not so much. Blech. |
