Bruz: This 40 was hard to crack, almost tearing the ring off the neck. The label is awesome, because unlike it's canadian counterpart "Perfect 10", the brand name does not cover the silhouetted woman's nipple! The 1st 40 with nudity! Anyway, I received this 40 from satan165 & immediately threw it in the freezer after taking it out of the package. Over an hour later it was still not very cold (I think high gravity 40s are harder to chill), but I drank it anyway. It had a slightly below average malt liquor flavor, comparable to Magnum... but it wasn't too bad. I drank this before going to watch Vitali Klitschko vs. Danny Williams fight on PPV at Bazookas with my buddies Ford & Beerface. I swilled the 40 pretty fast, got a nice buzz & then drove over to Bazookas. When we got to the door there was a sign declaring a $10 cover charge, which was BS to the fullest, so we got pissed off and decided we'd drive the 25 extra minutes down Rt.22 East to Hooters in Union, to watch the fight there instead (no cover & better food). Overall Hi Test was a pretty enjoyable experience! 7/10 swills, my friends! |

MarkBlackout: Hi Test is a pretty good 40.. Upon cracking, I didn't hear much of a hiss and the ring detatched.. a point of concern. Upon smelling, Hi Test doesn't seem too bad at all - it smelled entirely like a regular malt. The taste has a certain strong sharpness, but nothing to offend. It did give me a case of the hiccups which somewhat inhibited the rapidity with which i pounded this fucker. Overall, very good.. better than Bull Ice HG, Silver 211, and even Black 211 I dare say. This is my favorite HG malt. 8 out of 10 swills (one of those for the nipple on the label). I feared this malt having read satan165's review. He must have got a bad (or just inconsistent one), because this malt is A - Oh - Kay. I passed the Test. |

satan165: well ive had perfect 10 before twice. both times it was the 8.5 version. now technically this should be the same forumla as the new perfect 10 (8.6).
most HGs have a level of what i would call raunchy sweetness. silver 211 for example, which is the only HG i drink with any regularity (when i want that kind of buzz) has it, tho i can immediately say this has it stronger. this is very cold right now and i can tell its going to be punishing when it gets even slightly warm. im going to have to drink this fast. as soon as i cracked this it smelled like candian big bear. i dont know why but that was the first thing that came to mind. it smelled strong but its a kind of covered up way. im not going to say this 40 is bad this far into it, but its tasting kind of strong. i think people that live in canada are used to a taste just like this. damn, this 40 is strong. i got a good crack, the carbonation looks perfect and its ice cold but it tastes like a spoiled 211 trying to think of what the lucky number tasted like. i know it was bad, but i dont rememebr the exact taste. and i wonder if it was like this. this stuff is rough. i must have taken 10 swigs before i started to get used to it. i have to keep pounding away at this thing, im very scared of the prospect of it getting warm. hi test is testing me no doubt.... feelin ripped with about 30% lef |
