Bruz: Cracked open this badboy soon after getting home from work. Thought I was in for something similar to Bud Ice and wasn't looking forward to it, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that that was not the case. This 40, at 5.9% ABV, is much like a malt liquor. Very similar to Miller High Life, which I also consider a "beer pretending to be a malt liquor". This 40 was great from top to bottom. Hell, to me, this is more of a malt than it is a beer. That's not to get into the technical details about the fact that malt liquor IS beer (it's a type of lager), I'm just talkin from the common drinker's perspective of the differences between the 2. If you put this side by side with Bud Ice & Colt 45, more people would compare this to Colt 45. Easy to drink, thankfully not watery, and a cool new 40 to add to the collection. I hope Keystone & Keystone Light follow suit! Overall, 8/10 swills! Thanks out to BlackMetalTroy322 for this 40! |

11/12/09 91firebird: Finally got my hands on some Keystone Ice 40's that hit the shelves here in South Texas the other day. I really dig Keystone Light as well as Keystone Ice out of a can. Its cheap and its something you can pound all night and not wake up with a wicked hangover. I found the brown bottles and this did not disappoint. Smooth smooth smooth. Keystone Ice can be a little rough at times in a can if it gets warm but out of a 40 it is very poundable. I bought 6 and drank 2 while watching some hockey on TV. IMO nothing goes better with hockey than some good ol fashioned bad beer. This brew stays cold all the way and actually produces a pretty good buzz. I pounded 2 back to back and was feeling awesome afterwards. Overall this gets a 9/10. Nothing to complain about here. Just a good 40 to swill on a daily basis. At 1.79 a pop how can you go wrong? |

10/24/09 LMSCRacer: I found this at Party Outlet in Florence, KY. I've had KI in 24 oz cans before so it was no surprise that this was a decent enough "ice" style beer. Really good crack and hiss with complete ring separation. Very mild taste - no hint of the alcohol all the way through the swill. Goes down real fast. I still think MBI is a better choice in this class, but this stuff is worth a try for sure. Edit: Forgot a rating - an easy 8/10 swill for price, flavor and buzz. |

10/9/09 d07c0m: Thanks to Brezz for this noise. GCH (good crack/his) Very easy-swilling ice brew in a big brown bottle. Tastes a lot better than Keystone Ice in cans. A LOT better. A bit like MBI in 40s. Nice, mild buzz. 7/10 |

9/24/09 itsdanko: First off i wanna give Brezz a shout out on this one... thanks to that wrong turn we made we found this lol. Cracked this and took a nice chug, doesnt taste bad at all. I've never had Keystone anything before, so this is completely new to me. I'm halfway through the bottle and the taste hasnt changed as its gotten warmer. I want to say it has a smoked flavor to it... (keep in mind i'm never one to trust when it comes to describing a taste). I'm tasting a smoked beverage with a taste of your basic beer. Nothing to brag nor complain about.
Buzz is kicking in around 3/4 through.... so i chugged the rest. I have a taste in my mouth like i just smoked a black. Normally you "wet your whistle" when you drink something.... my mouth is almost dry from that kill. Buzz is grand (more then i expected at least) 6/10 give or take. Taste is a 7/10. Good shit overall.... ![]() |

8/27/09 BigJandthe40: Thanks to Texasunderdog from the BDU for hooking me up with 2 of these. Ones for me ones for Sanjose40drinker. Its a smooth 40oz nothing to get real excited about, just glad I got to be the first on this one. I would say that if it was a hot day and I was playing horse shoes I would drink these all day long. Other then that I have to take a pass. I give it a 5 out of 10 for buzz and a 6 out of 10 for label, not worried about the hangover ranking ![]() |
