Reviews:

Bruz: Just got in from meeting the monsignor with my fiancee to discuss our wedding. This 40 had a weak crack. Drinking this 40 alongside a stuffed flank steak, mashed red potatos, broccoli & cauliflower. This is an american-canadian 40... a brand that can only be bought in the U.S. but perpetrates as a canadian brand, like Molson Ice, only very different in flavor. From the heavy dark brown wide mouth bottle to it being a Labatt brand to the label saying it's "imported", it really is a true canadian brew... just not available in Canada. I had my 1st Labatt Ice 40 about 6-7 years ago when I first began my 40oz obsession, and up until recently I always thought I remembered getting this in Toronto but realize now that I was confusing it with the canadian 40s Maximum Ice & Black Ice. Labatt Ice does have that basic canadian beer taste (which IS somehow different from the standard US beer/malt tastes). It's not a bad flavor, just very common among canadian bieres. Now I'm watching some American Idol auditions at the halfway point of this 40. The odd canadian carbonation makes me want to belch but I can't get it out - it feels like a foam would come up the back of my throat if I forced it. Less than 1/4 left & I'm fighting a strong urge to go pee-pee. Ok, I did go pee-pee. Easy to drink beer, flows down quick with the wide mouth. A good overall brew but no real buzz. Now, this IS like your typical canadain brew - but it's in America. Which makes it unique, somewhat. So for that reason I give it 6.5/10 swills... overall, slightly higher than I would have rated it if this 40 was available in Canada. Now that I'm done, it's time to pee again. Important update: my urine was completely clear.

UPDATE: I drank another one (new label), for 40ozMaltLiquorTV. Canadian beers have been giving me depression, I simply don't like the taste, and I've been having a hard time drinking them. So I wanted to give this one my all... I ripped it in under 4 minutes & 30 seconds, and did not think it had the same "canadian beer taste" but rather the "basic american pilsner" taste instead. Which completely contradicts my previous review. I give it the same rating tho, because back in my previous review I was more tolerant for canadian beer flavors than I am now (but no longer think this one has that flavor anyway). If I did, I'd change the rating to lower. Thanks out to MyLiverHurts for a couple of these!

7/7/09 havinafett: I drank this on the 4th of July right after a Schlitz Ice and right before a Colt 45, with tons of Schmidt cans and other random nonsense in between those three 40s. I regret doing that. I really wish I'd have saved this for a time when I wasn't drinking so much so I could actually enjoy it and reflect on the taste a bit more. Even so, I'm still going to try to review it.
First off, I haven't had too many Canadian beers. In fact the only thing I've drank that even comes close is Labatt Blue and Molson Canadian and I don't even know if those count because they're imports. (For some reason about 6 years ago all anyone I hung out with drank was Molson Canadian...I have no idea why) No matter, this stuff is made in Canada to be drank by Americans so I guess its more or less in the same category? Really weak hiss, almost nothing. Like others have said the ring didn't detach from the cap. This stuff tasted a little different to me though. I can imagine it, smell it, but I'm not really sure how to describe it now. Maybe thats the standard Canadian beer taste...
I liked it though. I liked it a lot and the fact that I was drinking a wide mouth 40 made it even more enjoyable. Crazy Stallions aren't anywhere that close to me (as far as I know) and none of the recently returning widemouths are that close either so this is the first widemouth 40 I'd drank since 2001. The novelty of it was great. This beer went down real smooth, real fast and was real crisp. It was great. I'm not really too sure if it was the wide mouth that made me drink it quicker or the taste that I'm not really used to but I enjoyed it quite a bit. If I could get this regularly I'd drink it often. Great beer 40
Thanks to SouthLyon40s for this and also for the Schlitz Ice I mentioned earlier.
8/10

DaHookUp7Mile: First time drinking this tonight, Weak hiss and ring stayed attachted to the cap. Taste is pretty damn good, No complaints so far.

Listenin to some Lil Wyte - Get High To This while pounding this 40. Its a pretty damn good taste. I like it, Ill prolly cop it more often when i want a weak 40.

On the swill now, Id give it a 7/10, If it was a better buzz it'd be higher. Real good taste and easy to chug.

satan165: great fucking 40. ring didnt detach and crack was weak. i still havent drank that many widemouth 40s in my life (compared to 100s or 1000s of small mouth) and i think im learning that the widermouth makes the expellation of carbonation/air seem less. this was crisp but didnt have the crisp dryness....it had the canadian 'strong beer' taste, and in a very good way. it baffles my mind that there are regions on the US of A where people can drink these everyday, amazing. id trade king cobra or any other regualrs from my hood for these, fucking awesome. ive always wanted to pound a max ice and this is close enough for now, tho i would like that extra 1.5% that max ice has. great 40, looks awesome, heavy duty canadian bottle, fucking awesome all around

i drank a 24 of heiniken, then this, then a bunch of heinikens, special X and miller lite cans. and then i was smashed
