Reviews:

Bruz: Weak crack, which is typical with wide mouth tab caps. But the brew is highly carbonated. Tastes like an ale or a beer with that "imported taste" - like most green bottled brews do. This 40 is flowing down really well - I am a fan! Swill's not bad. 5.6% alcohol & no buzz. Hopefully I do some green bottle brew beefs from it! Overall 7/10 swills - everyone should try this! Thanks out to neufutur & detroitfourtyouncer for a couple of the variants!

2/8/10 troobie: I've got a widemouth 40 of Molson Ice that I purchased in Ontario for an exorbitant price thanks to Ontario's LCB and a shitty exchange rate. This 40 is in green glass although the 6-pack bottles of this are in brown glass (they used to be green glass.) I typically hate green glass beers. They always taste like hell, except for the Mickey's line.

My understanding of the whole "ice beer" deal is that you take a beer, freeze some of the water in the beer, filter out those ice crystals, and bottle what is left. This leaves you with a higher ABV, a little more flavor, and a smoother beer. With that in mind, I believe Molson Ice is the one and only ice beer I've had that accomplishes those goals. It also may be the only ice beer I've had that tastes better than the original beer it is based upon. Super smooth. I just want to keep drinking more of it. Probably the smoothest beer I've had.

This is one of my favorites. I love this stuff. I can drink Molson Ice all night long and never get sick of it.

The more you drink the more you will notice the extra 0.6% ABV. It definitely packs a little more than the regular Molson.

Molson Ice sets the standard for what an ice beer should be. I highly recommend it. 10/10

11/11/09 d07c0m: Datestamp March 28th 2010!!!

Super fresh! Freshest in the world.

I love the greens, they always satisfy that itch for crispness a la PStock, Mick's Ice, Bally, R Ale, Becks, Czechvar

The last time I had this 40 it was skunked and I drank it warm outside a metal bar in Baltimore before a death metal show.

Crackheads everywhere. It was great.

The beer ruled and I've always craved it since then.

Buzz is very nice right now as I did a bunch of stuff today and really craved some green bottle goodness. Good thing I had some courtesy of boston40hunter.

10/10 any day for sure.

9/11/09 40zForSatan: Like the other Canadian 40 I've had this one had tabs on the cap so it didn't get a very amazing crack. Luckily the lack of hiss was not an accurate sign of carbonation because this one was just fine. This was a decent beer 40, kind of watered down tasting, really smooth, very little kick to it. I could drink this even very cold like water.

TASTE: 5/10
SWILL: 5/10
BUZZ: 4/10
LABEL: 7/10
OVERALL: 6/10

6/8/09 BWill40s: So I got a Molson Ice 40 oz by luck this past Saturday. A buddy of mine was working out in Rhode Island and felt like rolling down back to Mass to swill with myself and a couple other buddy's. He said he hunted some stores but only found Molson in the 40.

None the less I though hey new bottle for the collection. I drank this after 2 King Cobra 40's and a 24oz can of Schlitz VSL 8.5. The gold bull for those who have not ripped that before. So the when it came to taste it kinda tasted more so like water then an Ice brew.

I have ripped Molson Ice before only in 18pack of cans. All they sell up the street for me.

Better tasting then any normal Ice brew I would rip keystone or naturals.

The 40oz is cool bottle to have Wide Mouth green bottle witch makes it stand out

7-10 Swills I would have to go with on this one. If you can find this try it

2/25/09 BigJandthe40: Big thanks to Nick Moulton...Hooking me up once again with an awsome 4
I drank this while showing my 1951 Buick Rat Rod and it went down like water, I think if I had just drank instead of talked I could have got this down super fast...4 mins fast. This is very smoth and taste super good. If you can get this I say buy it. I loved this 40, and will try to get it again and again. The widemouth helps it go down like water and the top of the cap is bad ass. It also gave me an decent buzz, but then again I had a few Mooseheads before slaming this bad boy. I would say its a 9/10 all factor on this one are awsome.
Thanks again Nick

12/27/08 91firebird: Big props to Dukesplace for the hookup on the Molson Ice. Shit is straight out of Brooklyn................. No ring detatch, but I was curious to see if it tasted like the Molson Ice I had 8 years ago.I used to pound countless 12oz bottles of this shit and get shitfaced playing some NHL Hockey on the PS1 lol. Shit was great all the way, I hate it that I cannot get this beer anymore. It stayed cold all the way and was by far one of the best 40's ever. If you like bad Ice beers this is not the drink for you because this tastes premium all the way. MBI, Miller Lite Ice, and Schlitz Ice are good Ice beers but Molson Ice puts them all to shame........... 10/10 overall. this shit is the stuff I would drink everyday and would would walk endless blocks to get my hands on.....This is the shit that pisses me off because it's thousands of miles away and I have no access to it.

BoozeClues: This 40 is very hard to come by in the DC area. That being said, the buzz factor is pretty weak, but it has a nice taste. I especially enjoy the wide mouth bottle, which I encounter all too infrequently. It's a solid tasting brew with a regular beer buzz. Shout out to my brothers up north for this fine tasting brew. By beer standards, it's 6/10 swills.

Buzzcore: I've got a friend who probably lives off this shit. Everytime I'm over his place for a party or just to chill out, he's feeding me 12 oz'ers of it. I've tried it a couple of times, and was never very impressed. Actually hated it...................but when you need the bottle for the collection, you'll sample just about anything. Didn't taste as bad in a 40 as it did in the 12 oz'er, but it was still nothing to write home about. Tasted like if the KGB tried to replicate Ballantine Ale. 4/10

Fat John: Initial reaction when i crack the cap on this stuff is damn this shit must be skunked or something but after drinking quite a few i realize that its just the way this shit smells. The first swill always lets me know the shit is just fine. This is some unique tasting shit. Not your typical ice beer.I almost wanna call it an acquired taste because a lot of my beer drinkin friends won't touch this shit.Anyways in my opinion this shit is the bomb.Nice and smooth, flows real easy.Gives an alright buzz if drank fast being it only weighs in at 5.6%.Swill isn't bad at all cuz it doesn't seem too watered down and still seems to hold some of the original flavor of the brew. All in all this is a good 40 in my opinion and deserving of a rating of 9 outta 10 swills

ImissMy64oz:just finished my 1st molsen ice
shit was deliciuos
great bottle great taste nice buz evene though its 5.6
im feelin nice
imma go to 7-11 to get some camels and imma come back and pound a iceman
just chillin nice day i got some big L blastin and no work for 3 more days
10/10 for the molsen ice

MarkBlackout: I unexpectedly found this 40 at a grocery right around Myrtle and Broadway, in Brooklyn. Strange label insists: "Imported Directly From Canada." 5.6% alc. Long, extended hiss, very little crack. Instant skunkfog enveloped my face. I like the widemouth, the only one available in NYC to my knowledge. This beer tastes kind of old, but I think I would have liked it if it was fresher or had it been protected by a brown bottle (note: I got an older label, not current). Yeah, shit tastes pretty bad, but I'll finish it. Fucker was $2.59 American! That's a lot for us Yanks when it comes to greenbottle piss like this! 6 out of 10 swills.. maybe it makes televised hockey more tolerable? Try it with a side of poutine?

nickmoulton: I was stoked when I finally found this back home this past weekend when I drove back to western Massachusetts for my birthday. I have been inspired to pick this up since I saw Racer's review and he reccommended it..so here we go

Weak hiss and no crack at all...figures though, since it is a widemouth...First taste...wow, this is goooooood beer. Possibly my favorite beer 40...I correct myself, this is my favorite beer 40, tied with golden anniversary...by the way, I am lovin the bottle....anyways, I am about 3/4 through and the flavor isnt changing much at all, its going down rather smoothly...A lot of carbonation in this 40...I agree with the comments of mocking Ballantine..

Getting down to the swill and it is going down just fine. Wow, the only flaw was the buzz factor, but at 5.6% I definitly cant complain. I was going to time myself and go for under 8 minutes, but this really was enjoyable, so I drank it in about 15 minutes... This shit was delicious. I highly reccommend trying this 40 if you can get it in your area...I give it an easy 8/10...If This was a malt, it would of gotten an 8.5, possibly a 9...Thanks for the recommendation Racer..Awesome brew

OldeGoldSwilla: This was my first widemouth 40oz and I was impressed at how fast the beer came out, it was like a freight train, yo! The Molson Ice tasted pretty good better than bud ice or beast ice for sure. And I picked this up for $1.79! That seemed like a good deal considering that it is imported although i think the store i got it at just had good prices cause steel 24's were 99cents and there were many other single serve great deals like the old gold 24oz being 99 cents as well. final word- a decent ice brew with a clean crisp taste

satan165: this didnt taste as i remembered from drinking it out of 12 oz bottles back when, it seemed not as bitter or carbonated, it was more smooth. it stayed pretty smooth even as it warmed up, maybe that was one advantage of this being a non-malt. it really wasnt that far off from other greenbottle malt 40s even tho its just beer, suprisingly. all in all, if i get the hankering for malson ice, ill buy a 12 pack, this bottle looked cool tho and it was the easiest to drink wide mouth to date. this 40 definately showed me some advantages it had despite being a non malt

Tiger Tai: Bruz hooked me up with this joint on his trip to Rhode Island. I really, really liked Molson Ice, if I could find it around here I'd drink it a lot. This is one of the only green beers I like. it has a great, kinda sweet, taste, is very smooth, and has a good buzz factor... I'd give Molson Ice 8 of 10 Swills.
