Bruz: Threw down my Panther Honey Dark tonight with my buds Greeny, Ford, Joe-A, his girl Jen-Bo, and Mini-Jew (Greeny's bro) while watching the Tapia vs. Gomez fight on Showtime. The Panther was found by Ford on his Spring Break trip to San Francisco, CA. It intimidated me, being so sickly dark in color... almost a purplish hue! But it actually tasted quite decent, not bad at all. Nothing outstanding, but nothing to diss either. The effects weren't much, though. The label does not say the alcohol content, but being the 40 connoisseur that I am, I'd guess it to be somewhere around 6%, give or take a tenth of a percentage point. The theme of Panther, as deduced by "40 Ounce Legend", is that it's supposed to represent the Black Panthers, being it is sold in primarily the "hoods" of Cali. I don't doubt this since the logo is a black panther & considering where its marketed. Overall rating is 8/10 swills. |

DC40s: Much thanks to my man Zack Morris for the hook up. I wrote this review awhile ago, but didn't post it due to EBS. But since things don't seem to be getting any better, I'll post it now. First impressions: This strange, purple malt had a loud, loud crack upon opening. A good sign. The first taste reminded me of a watered down Honey Brown. It seems to be leaving a weird, chemical aftertaste in my mouth. Nevertheless, I like this brew. It's nice to drink an American widemouth again (and not some bullshit like Crazy Horse or an import like Molson Ice). Overall, the buzz was mid-range, I'd say around 6%. |
