7/29/10: Redesigned the site a bit, so that it looks consistent throughout all the main pages... you know, like a website should. For too long my site was a mish-mash of different designs and layouts. In other news, the 7th annual Meeting of the Minds is coming up next month! The 40oz Crew will be invading Las Vegas for the 2nd year in a row, Fri. August 13 - Mon. August 16!

5/25/10: In what is probably the best bottle of Colt 45 to ever hit the market, be on the lookout for the new Billy Dee Williams variant, with the man, the myth, the legend himself pictured on the label!

5/19/10: I have reached an epic milestone: 800 different 40oz bottles! Thanks out to 40oz Crew member enonatas for the new label Icehouse!

4/16/10: The new 40ozMaltLiquor.com "Know Your Malts" t-shirts are FINALLY for sale! Order yours today, here!

4/6/10: There is a "New Label Assault" underway, with lots of 40s debuting new labels... first was Private Stock, then Colt 45... but now new Miller High Life, Milwaukee's Best, Schlitz Bull Ice, and Icehouse labels have popped up as well! I could post little pics of em all here for ya, but I'm gonna make you lazy people dig for these. Check out the 40oz Archive section of my site to see pics of the new labels (hint: click "The 40s" bottle button on the left).

3/12/10: 40ozMaltLiquor.com is now an official chapter of the Brewery Collectibles Club of America (BCCA). I've added a ton of new 40s to my collection thanks to this club and its generous members. If you collect cans, bottles, labels or any kind of breweriana, check it out & join up: www.bcca.com.

2/17/10: Last week I attended the Blue Gray show in Fredericksburg, VA, an annual beer can & breweriana collectors show. I brought home 12 new 40s for my collection, having met up with a fellow member of the BCCA as soon as I got there. The BCCA? Yes, the Brewery Collectibles Club of America. I joined back in December and have been trying to network my arse off with primarily collectors of old beer cans, under the assumption that these guys may have a few 40oz bottles stashed away as well. I was right, some of them do, and they've been very generous passing them along to me for very little in return. An awesome club that I fully encourage any collector of "beer stuff" to join. 40ozMaltLiquor.com will soon be an official chapter of the BCCA, and I hope to encourage 40oz Crew members to join the club officially themselves as well.

1/27/10: A very belated "Happy New Year" to all you malt enthusiasts out there. I've been busy networking for new (old) 40s and have already added several to my collection, breaking the 700 mark. Included in my scores from my super secret networking techniques is this previously unknown 40oz, Red White & Blue!

12/1/09: A couple new brands were added to the Archive - one old (Steelhead), one new (Night Hawk Ice). Oregon is home to 2 microbreweries that created "Steelhead" 40s, be sure to compare/contrast this one with "Oregon Steelhead" as well. This new (old) Steelhead will be in my possession soon, courtesy of 40oz Crew member BigJandthe40; however, if anyone can help get me a Night Hawk Ice 40, please email me! Night Hawk Ice is pictured here in a small mouth brown bottle, but may also exist in small mouth clear bottles and wide mouth.

10/20/09: Latest 40 discovered in wide mouth - Lucky Number 7-11! Also new MGD variant on the market.

9/15/09: Yet another 40oz brand changed over to wide mouth: Side Pocket High Gravity Malt Liquor!

9/14/09: Another new 40 emerges... Four O Ice Beer, found in Lancaster, PA!

8/31/09: Latest 40 to go wide mouth: Milwaukee Special Reserve Ice!

8/26/09: Another new 40 hits the market - Pit Bull High Gravity Ice, by Pig's Eye Brewing Co.! There's also rumors of Max Vibe 12% 40s in Los Angeles...

8/25/09: Keystone Ice recently started selling their shitty beer in a 40 (found in TX so far)!

8/4/09: Latest 40s to go wide mouth are Side Pocket High Gravity Ale, Evil Eye Red & Evil Eye Sour!

7/31/09: New fruity 40s debuted in Alberta Canada, by Mountain Crest Brewing Company: Saskaberry & Oransicle, both 6.8% ABV!

7/21/09: Colt 45 High Gravity 8.5% has recently been released in 24oz cans... however, new unconfirmed reports have Colt 45 HG 40s being test marketed in Ann Arbor, MI & possibly other areas! If anyone has access to this 40, please email me!

7/15/09: New 40oz discovered the other day by 40oz Crew member 'd07c0m', while doing some internet diving: Thunder Bolt, out of Alberta Canada, by the Mountain Crest Brewing Co.!

7/1/09: Added tons of labels to the 40oz Archive, many of which replacing previously existing crappy images. Consider it a good time to study the Archive so you too can KNOW YOUR MALTS! Here's 3 of my favorites... Colt 45 4.8% Beer, and 2 different Old Milwaukee Light 40oz labels:

6/29/09: Night Hawk is the 4th 40 to go wide mouth!

6/5/09: Wild Cat is now the 3rd 40oz to go wide mouth!

5/26/09: Evil Eye is the next 40oz to go wide mouth (the first being Camo Silver Ice) since the 90s! It's the RETURN OF THE WIDES!

5/4/09 (updated: 5/7/09): Big news in the 40oz scene in both the U.S. & Canada. In the states, it appears as though there may be a resurgence of the wide mouth 40s of the late '90s on the horizon. Camo Silver Ice is the first brand since that time period to have gone from small mouth to wide mouth and has first been sited about one week ago in its new form. Over on the Canadian front, there are 3 new brands available to consumers, fruity flavors under the Molson Dry banner: Berry Dry, Lemon Dry & Sangrila Dry. These appear to be repackagings of the Tornade flavors.

2/21/09: New Bud Light & Bud Ice 40oz label designs have recently hit store shelves!
