Founded by Mortimer A. London, the idea of the Horror Drunx is to hit the road and have pictures taken in front of as many horror movie sites as possible. It may sound easy enough, but there is a twist: every picture is taken in the middle of the day drinking a 40oz in front of horror movie sites. Illegal? Yes. Fun? Yes. Psychotic? Maybe.....

Mortimer: I'm not here to be everyone's buddy or to achieve commercial success. I don't fuck around. I call it like I fucking see it. If I don't like something in the Horror Scene then I make it very fucking clear. Nobody tells me what to fucking do. Fuck with me and I'll fuck with you. New horror trendies hate me. So-called horror celebrities fear me. Magazines like Fangoria and Rue Morgue won't publish me. I'm an anathema for everything that is beloved/proftiable in this genre of film. The Horror Drunx put the "BOO" back in Booze.

B: How & when was the concept of the Horror Drunx born?
M: I can't remember. I was drunk.

B: What's the most classic horror movie spot the Horror Drunx ever swilled at?
M: I can't pin down the most classic horror movie spot used in a Horror Drunx picture. Everybody and their mom has different fucking opinions on what is classic and what is not. I have gotten rip-roaring drunk at the Halloween house, The Nightmare on Elm Street house, the Plan 9 house, and The cave used in Robot Monster. I will get drunk anywhere at anytime if it is vain of true horror.

B: You drank dirt from the actual cemetary that Night of the Living Dead was filmed at mixed into a St Ides 40... what was going on in your head at that time? How did it taste? Any "after effects"?!
M: I thought to myself "this tastes like shit!" I was spitting out little rocks left and right. The "after effects" were a serious case of worms. I have no regrets. I would do it all over again.

B: The Horror Drunx have chapters in cities, states & countries worldwide. How many are there currently?
M: The Horror Drunx now have over 50-something chapters and upwards of 55,000 members worldwide in Mexico, Canada, Bogata, Peru, Guam, The United Kingdom,Hollywood, Orange County, Las Vegas, Washington, Pheonix, St. Louis, New York, Philadelphia, New Orleans (or what is left of it!), Boston, New Jersey, Memphis, El Paso...

Some chapter leaders throw their own events. At a typical Horror Drunx event you will find blood, boobs, booze and loud music. There is nothing elitist about the Horror Drunx. It is just about having fun at one of these events.

I just recently threw my own Horror Drunx event on August 25, 2007 in Hollywood and it was a blast. The bands kicked ass. It was an Open Bar. The event turned into a full scale blood orgy towards the end of the night. It was insane.

B: What's your personal favorite 40 & horror movie combo?
M: Orgy Of The Dead and Old English.
